French director Thierry Harcourt was among the special guests at the Embassy of Republic of Bulgaria to attend in Paris the performance of “God of the Carnage”, production of the National Theatre “Ivan Vazov”. He also attended the first of two performances that delighted the theatre audience in Paris.The actors were very pleased to meet Thierry Harcourt, with whom Vladimir Karamazov and Julian Vergov had two mutual projects. The French director has worked with them on staging two plays on the Main Stage of the National Theater – “An Ideal Husband” by Oscar Wilde in 2007 and “Carnival of Thieves” by Jean Anouilh in 2008. Vlado and Julian shared with him current news about the theatre in Bulgaria and told him in detail how the audience responds to “An Ideal Husband” – the production, which for more than 10 years is one of the most liked and visited ones on our top theatre stage. Thierry Harcourt shared that a few days ago he had his premiere of Harold Pinter’s “La Collection” (“The Collection”) at Théâtre de Paris and that he was in talks with the management of the National Theatre for a possible third mutual project.His Excellency Mr. Angel Cholakov, Ambassador of Republic of Bulgaria to France, hosted the official reception that gathered media, representatives of the cultural community in Paris, of the National Theatre, as well as the whole team of the production. For the Bulgarian community in France this tour was an opening event on the occasion of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in France.
